What Is a Good Engagement Rate on TikTok? 2026 Benchmarks and How Brands Read It

What is a good engagement rate on TikTok? About 4% by views in 2026. Benchmarks by follower size, views vs followers math, and how brands read your rate.

A good engagement rate on TikTok is about 4% or more when you measure it the way most TikTok benchmarks do: likes, comments, shares and saves divided by views. Socialinsider's TikTok benchmarks put the average at 4.20% across 2025 and 3.85% in the second quarter of 2026, after five quarters at 4.20% to 4.30%. Measured by followers instead, its 2026 report puts brand accounts on TikTok at 3.73%. The two methods are not comparable, so always name yours.

Engagement barely changes with account size when you measure by views. In Socialinsider's 2025 data, accounts with 1K to 5K followers averaged 4.40%, the highest of any group, and the largest group averaged 3.95%. Reach changed far more: average views per video fell from 860 to 350 for the smallest accounts and from 1,575 to 945 for accounts with 5K to 10K followers, while larger accounts gained views. That is why brands read your rate next to your median views.

To calculate your own rate, take your last 10 regular videos, skipping pinned, very recent and paid-boosted posts. Add likes, comments, shares and saves for each, then divide total engagements by total views and multiply by 100. Also work out the median video's rate and your median views, because one viral video can dominate the total. A follower-based rate is average engagements per video divided by followers, and it swings far more when a single video takes off.

Benchmarks disagree because they divide by different things, count different interactions, cover different accounts and different periods. HypeAuditor reports TikTok nano accounts at roughly 10% to 12% without stating its formula on the report page, while Socialinsider publishes its method. Brands typically recompute your rate from your public videos, ask for the method and date range, look at your typical video rather than your best one, read your comments, and look for ratios that do not add up.

In a media kit, show followers, median views, your engagement rate by views with the formula and date range, your top recent video, audience location and age from your analytics, and the benchmark you compare against. Round down, refresh monthly and keep screenshots. Rate guides price TikTok work by follower tier, with engagement and views helping decide where you land in a range. Buying likes or views is banned under the FTC's Consumer Reviews and Testimonials Rule.

On Aurelia, your engagement rate is one part of your case, not a gate. Aurelia sets no follower minimum and ranks applicants by fit with the brand's brief: your niche, your content and your track record, not your follower count. Content-only UGC campaigns need no posting audience at all. Your free media kit, stats and answers go with every application automatically. Every campaign shows your take-home pay, the product and the usage rights before you apply, the take-home shown already has Aurelia’s fee taken out, and you're paid to your bank after the brand approves your work.
