Is JoinBrands Legit? Creator Review, Fees and Payout Reality
Is JoinBrands legit? Yes. How the 20% creator fee, $49.95 Creator Pro, weekly PayPal payouts and content buyout work, plus what creator reviews say.
JoinBrands is legit. It is a UGC and creator marketplace where brands post jobs at a set price, creators apply, and JoinBrands collects the brand’s money upfront and holds it in escrow until the content is approved. Its iOS app has been on the App Store since June 2022. As of October 10, 2026, JoinBrands rated 4.4 on Trustpilot from 288 reviews and 4.6 on the App Store from 882 ratings. Creators must be adults living in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia or Germany, and there is no follower minimum.
JoinBrands fees for creators: the free plan takes a 20% platform fee from regular job earnings and performance bonuses, deducted before the money reaches your wallet. Creator Pro, at $49.95 a month or $494.99 a year, lowers the fee to 15%. Tips, Express job earnings and product reimbursements carry no fee. Job cards show pay before the fee, so a UGC video at the $60 default pays $48 on the free plan and $51 on Pro. Brands pay their own separate fee of 8% to 15% on top of the job price. Figures as of October 2026.
Is JoinBrands Creator Pro worth it? The subscription saves 5 points of fee, so it breaks even at $999 of job pay a month on monthly billing ($49.95 divided by 0.05), or about $825 on yearly billing. That is roughly 17 approved $60 videos a month. Below that pace, the free plan leaves you with more. Pro also removes the one-withdrawal-a-week limit and shows new campaigns an hour before free-plan creators. JoinBrands says the subscription does not guarantee job approval or campaign selection.
JoinBrands payouts move in two steps. When the brand approves your content, the payment is released from escrow to your JoinBrands wallet; if a brand does not respond to your revisions within 10 days, the content is approved automatically. You then withdraw to PayPal, which the help center lists as the only payout option. Free-plan creators can withdraw once a week, and PayPal payouts can take up to 7 business days. On reimbursement jobs you buy the product within 48 hours of taking the job and are paid back when the job completes.
Content ownership is the trade-off most JoinBrands reviews skip. Its help center says the brand has full ownership of content once it is purchased, and its Terms of Use transfer all rights to the brand on full payment, including use in AI tools. Its pricing page tells brands they acquire unlimited usage rights. There is no usage add-on to negotiate, so treat every job price as a buyout. Reviewers praise how easy JoinBrands is to start; complaints centre on invitations that disappear before creators can confirm and on generic support replies.
On Aurelia, brands post campaigns and creators apply in a few taps with their media kit attached. Every campaign shows your take-home pay, the product, the usage rights and the deadline before you apply. Aurelia’s creator fee is 10% as of October 2026, already taken out of the take-home shown, so a $400 campaign pays you $360. You own your content, brands get only the rights the campaign states, the agreement is generated from the campaign, there is no follower minimum, and you are paid to your bank automatically when the brand approves your work.
