UGC Hooks and Scripts: 40 Openers and 5 Script Templates Brands Rehire You For

40 original UGC hooks sorted by type, the hook-problem-demo-proof-CTA ad structure, five fill-in UGC script templates and how to deliver hook variations.

UGC hooks are the opening seconds of a video: the first spoken line, the text on screen and the first frame that decide whether a viewer keeps watching. TikTok's creative guidance for performance ads tells advertisers to introduce the proposition in the first 3 seconds, prioritize the hook within the first 6, and run 3 to 5 clearly different creatives per ad group. That is why so many UGC briefs ask for alternate hooks: extra openings filmed separately and cut onto the same body, so one video becomes several ads a brand can test.

Most hooks fall into eight types: problem, curiosity, result, skeptic, POV, proof, demo or test, and callout. The guide gives five original example openers for each type, labelled by niche, from skincare and pet products to tech, food and parenting. Each type comes with the situation it suits and the trap to avoid, such as results you didn't get, invented review counts or a teaser you never pay off. The rule behind all forty examples is simple: only say what is true for you, after you have used the product.

A UGC ad script has five beats: hook, problem, demo, proof and call to action. In a 30-second cut the hook takes about three seconds, the problem a few more, the demo the longest stretch, then one checkable proof detail and a single clear instruction. Write the body so it works after any hook, with no callbacks to the opening words, and trim the problem and proof before the demo when a cut runs long. Five fill-in templates cover problem to fix, skeptic to convert, live test, routine POV and three reasons.

To deliver hook variations brands can test, vary the type rather than the wording, film each hook as its own clip that ends on the same neutral beat so it joins the body cleanly, put the hook type in the file name, and send a short hook sheet listing every hook, its line and its cut point. A worked example shows a pet creator turning one camera setup into three hooks that differ in kind. Specs, safe zones, music and pricing for extra hooks are covered in the companion guide to UGC deliverables.

The hook is the line most likely to overpromise. Avoid health claims a brand cannot substantiate, pretending you found a gifted product yourself, calling free product 'not sponsored', invented social proof, and ad callouts that imply a viewer's age, health or financial hardship, which Meta's advertising standards prohibit. TikTok's Branded Content Policy bans branded content for weight-loss products. When a video goes on your account, disclose on screen and out loud in plain words, and turn on Instagram's Paid Partnership label or TikTok's commercial content toggle.

On Aurelia, brands post campaigns and creators of any audience size apply in a few taps, with their media kit attached automatically, so it pays to feature two or three of your strongest openings in the media kit's Featured content section. Every campaign shows your take-home pay, the deliverables (such as alternate hooks, B-roll or raw footage), the product, the usage rights and the deadline before you apply, and the take-home you see already has Aurelia’s fee taken out. The agreement is written from the campaign, feedback is pinned to the exact second of your video, and you're paid to your bank after the brand approves your work.
