How Much Do Influencers Make? Pay by Platform, Follower Count and Deal Type (2026)

How much do influencers make in 2026? Per-post rates by follower tier and platform, monthly and yearly earnings, brand deals vs payouts, and take-home math.

Most influencers earn a part-time income rather than a salary. In MBO Partners' July 2023 survey, 71 percent of US independent creators earned under $30,000 a year from creator work, 34 percent earned under $5,000 and 9 percent earned over $100,000. Goldman Sachs estimated in 2023 that about 4 percent of creators worldwide are professionals earning over $100,000, and that brand deals made up about 70 percent of creator revenue. MBO counted 10.1 million Americans earning money as independent creators in 2025, and 64 percent of them do it part-time.

Per sponsored post, 2026 benchmarks disagree by up to ten times at the small tiers. Influencer Marketing Hub's planning ranges put micro creators with 10K to 100K followers at $100 to $500 or more per Instagram post, $200 to $800 per TikTok video and $200 to $1,000 or more per YouTube video. Later's 2026 guide puts the same tier at $500 to $2,500 per post. On Collabstr's marketplace, brands paid an average of $255 for a YouTube collaboration, $193 on Instagram, $186 on TikTok and $154 for UGC, and about 80 percent of collaborations cost under $300.

Platforms pay on top of brand deals, but only past thresholds. As of October 2026, TikTok's Creator Rewards Program requires users to be 18 or older with 10,000 followers, 100,000 video views in the last 30 days and videos of at least one minute, and TikTok sets rewards at its discretion. YouTube opens fan funding at 500 subscribers and shares ad revenue from 1,000 subscribers plus 4,000 watch hours or 10 million Shorts views, rising for new applicants from February 1, 2027. Instagram bonuses and Facebook Content Monetization are invite-only.

Monthly income comes down to two levers: the rate per deliverable and how many deals close. Illustratively, an account with 10K followers selling two Reels at $150 earns $300 a month from brands, an account with 100K followers selling three videos at $1,500 earns $4,500, and a YouTube channel with 1M subscribers selling two integrations at $20,000 earns $40,000 before fees and tax. Earning $3,000 a month takes twelve deals at $250, six at $500 or three at $1,000. Add-ons such as paid usage rights, which Later puts at 30 to 50 percent of the base rate, raise the fee.

What you keep is smaller than the fee. On a $1,000 deal with $100 of costs, US self-employment tax of 15.3 percent on 92.35 percent of the $900 net is about $127, leaving $773 before income tax. Brands generally send Form 1099-NEC for 2026 payments of $2,000 or more, but all income is reportable, and product received in exchange for content counts as income at fair market value. Later says talent management typically adds 10 to 20 percent to creator fees. This is general information, not tax advice.

On Aurelia, brands post campaigns and every campaign shows your take-home pay, the product, the usage rights and the deadline before you apply, so you can benchmark an offer in seconds. The take-home you see already has Aurelia’s fee taken out. There is no follower minimum, applicants are ranked by fit with the brief rather than follower count, the contract is written from the campaign, the brand's budget is paid in before the campaign goes live and held until your work is approved, and you are paid to your bank automatically when the brand approves your work. Aurelia's free rate calculator gives a personal rate range from your followers, average views and format.
