Influencer Brief Template (Plus a UGC Brief Version) With Filled-In Examples

Copy a one-page influencer brief template and a UGC brief version, see three filled-in examples, and get hook and shot-list prompts for usable content.

An influencer brief template is a one-page document that tells a creator what to make and on what terms. It covers the idea, the goal, the audience, deliverables and specs, two or three optional hooks, up to three talking points with one must-say, a do and don't list, the disclosure line, usage rights, dates, revision rounds and pay. The brief gives direction rather than a script, and it states every term that tends to cause a dispute so nothing has to be renegotiated after delivery.

The UGC brief version is for content a brand runs itself, usually as ads, so nothing is posted on the creator's account. It asks for several short videos with alternate hooks filmed separately, B-roll and raw clips, plus file specs: vertical 9:16 video, natural light, no captions or music on raw clips, and no licensed music on edited cuts because Instagram says licensed music can't run as a partnership ad. Usage rights are written as channels plus duration, such as paid ads on Meta for six months from approval.

The guide includes three filled-in briefs for fictional brands. A skincare launch post keeps the talking points to what a viewer can see on camera: the texture of a gel moisturizer, its finish and how it layers under sunscreen. An apparel try-on asks for height, size and inseam with a sit, walk and stairs test and 60 days of partnership ads. A supplement UGC ad sells the routine (taste, mixing, the daily habit), hands the creator exact approved lines, and asks for three videos with nine alternate hooks.

Shot-list prompts follow TikTok's creative guidance for performance ads: 9:16 at 720p or better, the core message in the first three seconds, the hook within six, and a DIY style that is not overly polished. Each beat gets a prompt: open mid-action, state the problem in one sentence, demo in one continuous take, show one visible proof detail, give an honest verdict, and leave clean footage for an end card. Category B-roll lists cover beauty, apparel, food and supplements, and home products, along with adaptable hook starters.

Common brief mistakes include word-for-word scripts, too many talking points, vague usage rights, a missing disclosure line, health promises the product can't show on camera, and asking for a positive review instead of an honest opinion. The fix is hook options in place of a script, three talking points with one must-say, an approved-lines list and a never-say list, usage rights written as channels plus duration, and one disclosure line: the platform's paid-partnership label switched on, plus the creator saying early that the post is sponsored or the product was gifted.

On Aurelia, the creator campaign marketplace, the brief is the campaign. Brands start from dozens of researched templates across 20+ industries, each with a do and don't list and the disclosure line already written, or drop in the brief they already have and Aurelia turns it into a ready-to-edit campaign without inventing a budget, a date or a claim. Creators apply against it, Aurelia's picks rank them by fit with the brief, the creator agreement is generated from the same terms, drafts get comments at the exact second of a video, and Aurelia pays each creator once the brand approves their work.
