Holiday and Black Friday Influencer Campaigns: A Week-by-Week Timeline for Small Brands

Plan a holiday influencer campaign backwards from Black Friday: a week-by-week countdown, ship-by dates, gift guide angles and what to cut if you start late.

A holiday influencer campaign needs its deadlines set backwards from dates that are fixed once the year is set. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving, the fourth Thursday of November, so it falls between November 23 and 29 (November 27 in 2026), and Cyber Monday is the Monday after. A campaign that ships product to creators needs roughly five to seven weeks from brief to live content once you add up recruiting, signatures, shipping, time with the product, filming and one round of revisions, so planning starts about eight weeks before Black Friday.

The week-by-week countdown: decide the offer, budget and units eight to seven weeks out; open the campaign six weeks out; sign creators and ship every parcel five weeks out, with a reship-by date the following Wednesday; collect drafts three weeks out; approve two weeks out; and put the first wave live in the week before Black Friday. Booking each creator for a second, gift-guide post spreads coverage into December from the same shipment, with those posts live a few days before your last holiday order date.

Your customers' shipping cutoff matters as much as the deal dates. USPS publishes recommended send-by dates each season; for 2026 they are December 17 for Ground Advantage and First-Class Mail for delivery before December 25 in the contiguous US, December 18 for Priority Mail and December 19 for Priority Mail Express. If you ship orders the next business day, your last safe standard order date is the business day before the Ground Advantage cutoff, so gift content should be live several days before that.

Holiday content angles have a shelf life: deal teasers and early-access posts in the week before Black Friday, short deal-day reminders from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, gift guides and unboxings until a few days before your last order date, stocking-stuffer and hosting content in December, last-minute gift-card content after shipping cutoffs, and new-year content from December 26. A holiday brief adds the exact offer and code, a do-not-post-before date, both posting windows, who the gift is for, your last order date and a unique code for each creator.

Plan paid usage before creators sign. Later's 2026 pricing guide says paid-ads usage commonly adds 30 to 50 percent to a creator's fee and is priced by duration and scope. A term from approval, two weeks before Black Friday, to the end of January covers the season. TikTok Spark Ads codes come from a published post and the creator sets their duration; Meta partnership ads need the creator's ad permissions and cannot use licensed music, so ask for royalty-free audio and an evergreen cut without holiday wording.

If you have fewer than six weeks before Black Friday, cut scope instead of buffers: fold planning into briefing, invite creators you already know first, book one post per creator aimed at Thanksgiving week, Cyber Monday or the gift guides, or switch to holiday UGC for your own ads. On Aurelia, a template or the brief you already have becomes a ready-to-edit campaign, Aurelia's picks rank applicants with backups shortlisted, and offers and contracts go out automatically, so a late start skips the setup and the chasing.
