How Much Do Influencer Marketing Agencies Charge? Agency vs Platform vs Marketplace Costs
How much do influencer marketing agencies charge? Retainer, percentage and project fees, verified managed prices, hidden costs and agency vs platform math.
How much do influencer marketing agencies charge? Most bill in one of three ways: a monthly retainer for the agency's time, a percentage of the spend they manage, or a fixed project fee for a defined campaign, and most quote privately rather than publishing prices. No independent, data-backed benchmark for agency retainers could be verified. Agency-side guides such as Favikon's July 2025 article estimate retainers at $3,000 to $20,000 or more a month and commissions at 10% to 30%, but present them as estimates without survey data.
The clearest public benchmarks come from managed services and platforms that publish prices, checked October 8 to 9, 2026. Aurelia, our pick, is free to start and charges one fee per campaign on top of the creator budget, starting at 10% with a $99 minimum. Minisocial runs fully managed micro-influencer campaigns from $3,000 for 10 creators with creator fees included. Statusphere's managed seeding starts with a $10,000 investment. Creator.co's Managed plan costs $2,199 a month with a six-month minimum or $1,499 a month on an annual plan.
Two quotes with the same headline number can differ by thousands. Ask whether creator pay is inside the fee or on top, and in a percentage deal what the percentage is charged on, which Make Influence calls the most common source of disagreement. Later's 2026 guide says paid-ads usage or whitelisting commonly adds 30% to 50% to a creator's rate and that talent management typically adds 10% to 20%. Also check ad spend, rush fees, product shipping, minimum terms and renewal rules.
An agency fee buys a bundle of jobs: strategy, finding creators, outreach and negotiation, contracts, shipping, content review, creator payments, usage rights and reporting. Strategy and paid media are judgment jobs where a good agency earns its fee. Most of the rest is execution, and that is the work Aurelia does in software. The guide prices one illustrative 10-creator campaign five ways: on Aurelia, it comes to $3,600 with a $300 platform fee, and each creator takes home $270 of the $300 after Aurelia's 10% creator fee as of October 2026, while the agency route runs from $3,600 on commission to $6,300 or more with a retainer.
Whether an agency is worth it depends on the share of your budget its fee would take. Later's 2026 convention puts platform or agency fees at about 10% to 15% of a creator budget. A $3,000 monthly retainer is 37.5% of a program with $5,000 of monthly creator spend but about 13% at $20,000. Agencies make most sense for strategy, multi-channel launches with paid media, larger creators, several countries, or teams with nobody to approve content and pay creators on time.
Is an influencer marketing agency worth it for a small business? It is when three things hold: you need strategy, creative direction or paid media and not only hands, the minimum term is no longer than your test, and the fee stays near 10% to 15% of the program. As of October 2026 the smallest published commitments are one Minisocial project from $3,000 for 10 creators, Statusphere from $10,000 and Creator.co Managed at $2,199 a month with a six-month minimum on its pricing card. A $3,000 retainer fits that convention only at about $17,000 of monthly creator spend. On Aurelia, a $2,000 creator budget costs $2,200.
Aurelia is the creator campaign marketplace that does an agency's execution work in software. A brand posts one campaign, or imports the brief it already has, and creators of any size apply. Aurelia's picks rank applicants by fit with the brief, offers and contracts are generated from the campaign, and shipping tracking, content review with timestamped comments and creator payments after approval all run in one workspace, with usage rights recorded at closeout. There is no retainer or subscription: one platform fee per campaign on top of the creator budget. For larger programs, Aurelia also runs managed campaigns.
